Help Us

Yorkshire Swan Rescue Hospital is run by volunteers and relies totally on donations and assistance from members of the public, businesses and other charitable organisations. There are many things you can do to help us help wildlife, these range from giving some of your time to help with fundraising, donating money to us or providing practial help with the rescues and at the rescue centre.

FUNDRAISING

Your donations pay for the rescue, care, treatment and release of suffering wild animals. They also help pay for education regarding wildlife protection. They pay for our leaflets, posters, displays other publicity materials. The following are ways in which you can help:

Donate to us - all donations are greatfully received not matter how small. We are a registered charity which means our accounts are sent into the Charity Commission each year for public scrutiny. Please make cheques / Postal Orders payable to Yorkshire Swan Rescue Hospital and send them to YSRH, Stearsby Hagg Farm, Brandsby, York, YO61 4SH, North Yorkshire.

If you are a UK tax payer please don't forget to GIFT AID your donation, all you have to do is sign a form and send it in with your donation (click here to download) and at no further expense or trouble to yourself we can claim 28p in every pound of your donation back from the government.

Corporate Donations - We are willing to take part in publicity events with for any company or organisation who donates to us. We can also add links to our website advertising your business and mention your donation in our newsletter, literature, etc. Please contact us for more formation.

Standing Orders / Direct Debits - Having a regular monthly / annual income is a great help to us at YSRH. You can download a standing order form here or if you have any further questions please contact us. Even £1 a month is a great help! You can also gift aid your direct debits so that we receive an extra 28p from the tax office per £1 you give each month.

Organise Events For US - Car boot stalls, jumble sales, raffles, tombolas, collecting tins to be places in shops, workplaces, etc, sponsored events or pledging your time to help us at fundraising events organised by ourselves. We can provide assistance, leaflets, posters, etc for any event that you organise on our behalf.

Collect / Produce Items For Us - We are always in need of saleable goods such as bric a brac, tombola and raffe prises, produce, crafts, plants, etc to use in our fundraising events. From a box full to a van full please get in touch and we will be happy to collect. Maybe you could organise a collection of goods at work or with family / friends then contact us to collect?

PRACTICAL HELP

Building / Hands On Work - We always need help with building / practical work at the rescue centre on weekends and in the week. If you have some time to spare and would like to help please contact us.

Drivers / Transport - We often need help with drivers for rescue calls, to return healthy animals back to the wild, to drop off at and collect animals from the vets, to pick up and canvass for donated goods, etc. If you can help in this way please get in touch.

Letter Writers - We need letter writers who are willing to write to companies, councils and newspapers regarding wildlife protection issues. If you would like to go on our letter writers list please contact us and we will write to / email you with details whenever letters need writing.

Help From Businesses - We are always in need of help from businesses such as printers, computer repairs, vehicle repairs, fuel suppliers, builders, plumbers, suppliers of goods we can use in fundraising, animal veterinary supplies, animal feed and bedding supplies, etc etc

If you run a business or know of someone who does and you would be willing to offer us goods and services as a donation or at a reduced rate please contact us. In return we can help promote and recomend your business through the media, on our website and in our literature.
